Heiko Echter von der Leyen (born 2 June 1955) is a German professor of medicine and the husband of politician Ursula von der Leyen. He is a member of the Von der Leyen family. After finishing his medical education at the University of Hamburg, Hanover Medical School and Stanford University, he was a faculty member at Stanford for several years〔(Streit über Stammzellengesetz.
